With
this year's Juno Awards set to take stage in Winnipeg, the Canadian
Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) has announced that
Halifax will host the event in 2006.
The Nova Scotia capital will host Canada's largest music awards
show for the first time from March 31 to April 2, 2006. The gala
awards show will air on the final day.
CARAS also announced that it will be extending its broadcast deal
with CTV for two more years, which will see the Juno Awards on CTV
through 2007.
The 2006 Juno Awards and spin off events are expected to bring over
$30 million to the Halifax economy.
The 2005 Juno Awards awards gala will be broadcast live on CTV,
Sunday, April 3.
