  Chris Haddock
CREATOR/PRODUCER/WRITER, DA VINCI'S INQUEST (CBC)

Chris is the President of HADDOCK ENTERTAINMENT INC. He is a veteran Writer/Producer/Director who has firmly established himself as a creative leader in Canada’s film and television industry.

Haddock started his creative career as a street performer, but eventually songwriting turned to screenwriting when a friend invited him to write lyrics for a television show. His first show as a producer was MOM P.I., a one-off family drama about a single mother and detective that Haddock pitched to the CBC. It became a series and Haddock ran his first show in 1991 for two seasons.

After a year in Los Angeles selling his feature scripts and writing pilots for major networks such as CBS, Fox, ABC and Showtime, Haddock pitched the CBC a drama series about a Vancouver coroner entitled DA VINCI’S INQUEST. This critically acclaimed series has won over 35 industry-related awards, including the Gemini for Best Dramatic Series every year since the show first hit the airwaves in 1998/99.

Haddock was also the Writer and Executive Producer on the CTV Television Movie entitled, THE LIFE. A co-production between HADDOCK ENTERTAINMENT INC. and SARRAZIN-COUTURE ENTERTAINMENT INC. THE LIFE is scheduled to air in 2004.

More recently, Haddock Wrote and Executive Produced a pilot for CBS, originally entitled STREET BOSS. The show was successfully picked up for series and was re-named, THE HANDLER. The series has been heralded as the next big show to watch and will air in September 2003 on CBS in the U.S.A, BBC in the U.K., and GLOBAL in Canada.

Chris Haddock’s production company is HADDOCK ENTERTAINMENT INC. The company is synonymous with the original work that reflects Chris’s Vancouver roots, because his greatest source of creativity and inspiration is in the streets of the city where he grew up.
